Flat Rock Tailgate Market News - May 6, 2010

The Flat Rock Tailgate Market
Thursday, May 6
3 - 6 pm

Mother's Day is this Sunday and the Flat Rock Tailgate Market is the perfect place to buy FRESH, LOCAL PRODUCE for that very special dinner for your mom. This week we'll have cherry and beefsteak tomatoes, lettuces of all kinds including Asian greens salad mix, spinach, radishes, baby red pac choi, cucumbers, collards and spring onions. Also, the first of the rhubarb is in!

Fresh from the oven those yummy middle eastern pastries, strawberry pies and tarts, chess pies, triple chocolate decadent bunt cakes, scones and all those breads, cookies and more from the Flat Rock Village Bakery.

Support our meat and fish vendors by stopping by to purchase local Angus beef, free-range chickens and eggs, and hormone-free lamb and pork. Jamie will be there with his shrimp, scallops and an assortment of fresh and frozen fish. (Let's just hope the oil disaster doesn't effect him. So support him NOW).

Cheese and more cheese. A great selection this week including Chevre, Feta, Chocolate Lab, and Ellington (new this week).

Five, yes that's 5 varieties of mustard!

Native Plants, annuals & perennials ready for spring planting. Curly willow & pussy willows for indoor decorating.

Also for planting, Paul is coming in with his heirloom tomato plants and Max and Melinda with their very beautiful, very healthy herbs and vegetable plants.

Mushrooms! Greg promises an abundance of shiitake mushrooms and hoping for lots of wild mushrooms too.

As a special treat this week, Fields of Gold and Max have teamed up to offer you a delicious Thai salad. Come and try and buy!
